Neonatal Workshop, Saturday, 9 am
January 25, 2020 @ 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
2020 is just around the corner and Jeri and Carolyn have been busy planning for the new year! The first Neonatal workshop will be on Saturday, January 25th from 9 -2:00. We will be working on a new pattern called “Exploding Squares”.
For anyone who has not come to a workshop before, or if you are new to QBTS, this is a great way to meet and get to know people in the guild and its lots of fun just to come and sew together. For each workshop there will be a chosen pattern for which kits will be prepared. The kit will contain all of the fabric cut for the top of the quilt, the backing, and the binding. We also have the batting for you. So all you have to do is come and sew. We do have some quilters who like to come and sew with the group, but they bring their own fabric (trying to use up their stash) to sew on a baby quilt for the hospital. We have some women who come and quilt the tops that have been turned in unquilted. So there is something for everyone at the workshop!!
At the beginning of 2019 we set a goal of making 300 quilts for the Neonatal Unit at New Hanover Hospital. We are so excited to announce that we have exceeded our goal. As of the November guild meeting, we have received 330 quilts!! Thank you to all of our wonderful quilters. These quilts are such a comfort to the parents of their babies that are in the NICU.
If you would like to join us for the first workshop on January 25, 2020 you can either sign up at the next guild meeting, or email Carolyn at email@example.com. Hope to see you there!!
