Martha Ooten Workshop, Saturday, 10 am
March 14, 2020 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Learn how to use the simple but lovely decorative/embroidery style stitches that are found on most everyone’s sewing machine to enhance not only pieced blocks but also free-motion quilting patterns. Martha says, “Those who have ‘fancy’ embroidery machines can use fancier stitches!”
You will be shown how to map out where to place the decorative/embroidery stitching for best effect, and how to incorporate the free-motion quilting decorative patterns around the stitched blocks. This is a wonderful way to practice free-motion quilting using only one or two free-motion designs and incorporate the decorative stitches which don’t get used often enough on our modern machines. The techniques taught will be perfect for use on small projects such as table runners, wall hangings, and baby quilts etc.
