Next Meeting Details
Our next Guild meeting on Tuesday, November 19 at 10 am. will be a trunk show by fiber artist Roxanne Lessa, Roxanne is an accomplished textile artist. You will want to explore her wonderful website.
There will also be a presentation of member quilts made for the CRAYOLA CHALLENGE.
Challenge Directions: Choose your favorite crayola color, you may add black, or white or cream to create your masterpiece. A black/white or black/cream fabric would be okay. So basically it is a two color quilt. Perimeter no less than 48” nor larger than 144”. Quilt may be pieced, paper pieced or appliquéd, hand or machine quilted. Must be a complete quilt with top, batting, backing, and binding. When turning in your quilt at the November meeting please put your entry in a plain bag with your name and the crayon you matched your fabric to. Remember there is a monetary prize at stake here.
Hope you are busy working on the challenge quilt. It is due at this meeting! Some people have asked “What’s in it for me?” Well there are two prizes at stake. First place winner gets $40 and runner up gets $20. Think of it as a nice dinner or great lunch out. Who couldn’t use a little extra cash?
If you have any questions about the Challenge Quilt, please contact June Bell.
Also at the beginning of the year some of you signed a pledge card to tackle a project that you were afraid to start. Well now is the time to show what you were able to accomplish with a little push. It doesn’t need to be finished, but well under way. Please share what you have done and June Bell will have a prize or two for your efforts.
